Carpentaria (2014)

Carpentaria is an imagined musical landscape.  The textures in my composition were inspired by the sandy terrain, the swollen waterways, and azure waters of far north Queensland.  The piece alternates between two sections:  a gentle, rolling wave-like theme, and a more rhythmic and funky riff that builds to a climax at the end. Carpentaria is composed for the Queensland Con Sax Orchestra, who have showed amazing energy and commitment to new music!
