Clocked Out Duo
New music with a sense of play and adventure

Clocked Out Duo use prepared piano, percussion, toy instruments and found objects to creat "a detailed orchestration of percussive and resonant sounds." (Chris Reid, Realtime85) Their work embraces a range influences from experimental composition (John Cage, Terry Riley, Morton Feldman), to free improvisation (George Lewis), to traditional Chinese percussion. In their playful and adventurous work Clocked Out Duo create links between disparate styles and artistic communities.

Over the past 10 years, COD have collaborated with many creative musicians, artists, dancers and writers, such as David Chesworth, Richard Nunns, Zou Xiangping, Topology, Bonemap, Delia Sylvan, and Craig Foltz. The creative partnership of Griswold and Tomlinson has also been a springboard for many larger projects, including The Wide Alley.

COD have performed at major festivals and venues throughout Australia, the U.S., Asia, and Europe. They have released three critically acclaimed CDs: Every Night the Same Dream (2000), Water Pushes Sand (2002), and Foreign Objects (2010).
